Biography

Nick Williams graduated from Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville) in 2005 and Southern Illinois University School of Law (Carbondale) in 2008.  He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and in all Districts of the Illinois Federal Courts.

Nick has spent his entire career in the intersection of law and healthcare.  For more than a decade Nick served as the Chief Legal Officer of several multi-state healthcare organizations, and for the last seven years he had been the dual Chief Executive Officer and Chief Legal Officer of two large, national healthcare companies.

Nick's experience in the legal arena is expansive and significant.  He has conducted more than 100 hearings in front of Illinois State Agencies, and conducted multiple jury and bench trials.  As both CEO and CLO, he has led over 100 healthcare transactions totalling approximately $700 Million in value.  Nick has successfully represented clients in high stakes enforcement action litigation against multiple states' attorneys general, and is one of an extremely limited number of attorneys to, as lead counsel, successfully promulgate a civil antitrust action against a national insurance company.  Finally, Nick was a Finalist for Ernst & Young's highly prestigious "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" in 2021 for his successes in business during the initial Covid outbreak.

Nick is from Bethalto, Illinois and spent this youth dreaming of becoming a trial attorney.  He was an inaugural member of both the Civic Memorial High School Ice Hockey Team and the Southern Illinois University Cougars Ice Hockey Team.  He received a private scholarship to play at SIU due to a combination of his outstanding academics, sportsmanship, and play in high school.

Nick coaches youth ice hockey, soccer, and baseball in Springfield, plays in the Springfield Men's Hockey League, and Captains a private men's ice hockey tournament team called the Sun Yetis.  This team won the inaugural Ron Stone Memorial Ice Hockey Tournament held in August 2024, an event honoring longtime Springfield attorney and Springfield Kings supporter Ron Stone.
