From a young age, Stephanie watched her father, Timothy Shay, establish her family's law firm as one of the most reputable and referred injury law firms in central Illinois. This legacy is one she hopes to continue throughout her own legal career. Stephanie believes that transparency with her clients is key to ensuring that they get the answers they need and that they fully understand both their rights and the legal process. Stephanie knows the value of talking through each step of a client's case and providing her expert opinion about options, risks, and likely outcomes so that she and her client can make the best decisions together.

 

Stephanie views advocacy as her most vital role, fighting for her client's rights in and out of the courtroom. Stephanie has extensive discovery and motion practice experience and has litigated civil bench and jury trials before the Illinois circuit and appellate courts, as well as arbitrated cases before the Illinois Workers Compensation Commission.

 

Stephanie lives in Springfield with her husband, two sons, and two rescued border collies. When not practicing law, she can often be found watching her "hockey family" skate at ice rinks all over central Illinois. Stephanie proudly cheers on her son, who skates for the Springfield Kings, and her husband, the team's head coach.
